Hey there, welcome to my first project! I’ve always had this burning desire to have my own little space on the web. A place where I could share my dreams , mu journey and challenges to bring all of them to life.

That’s why I created this website ! I chose Hugo for this project instead of using WordPress like everyone does. If you’re wondering why , well, I spilled all the details in my article Why I Ditched WordPress .

In this portfolio, uncover the magic behind my website . I’ll walk you through how I brought my vision to life and share all the valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way

Why This Blog

I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer . But, truth be told, I tend to think more than I actually do. For years now, I’ve been chasing my dreams, but every time I try to make them real, I end up falling short. It leaves a mark on my heart that’s tough to heal, and I start wondering if success is even possible for me.

Out of all the dreams I’ve chased, blogging is the one I’ve tried the most . I’ve create countless blog , but I always seem to get stuck after just a post or two. It’s like I get caught in a vicious cycle , where I end up deleting the site and starting over, without making any real progress.

You know, Einstein once said that doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. So, if I wanted to see a change this time and actually build a successful blog, I knew I had to figure out what went wrong in the past and break the cycle. This time, I was determined to make it work.

So after a long analyzing and research , I found Hugo.

Why Hugo ?

Fast, efficient, and focused on content, Hugo stole my heart. Its simplicity and dedication to content resonated deeply with me, especially as someone who deals with ADHD. Hugo’s straightforward approach reminded me to stick to the main goal of a blog : to communicate ideas effectively, rather than getting lost in superficial details like design . And you know what? That principle applies to all projects: start simple, focus on the main goal, and improve it later if needed.

Challeng on the way

But when I started building my blog , I forgot this goal . I could’ve just picked a ready-made theme and had a functional site on day one . But no , it was too easy, I had to make things complicated, as usual. Instead of sticking to the plan and focusing on the content, I got lost in the maze of design (yet again!) and decided to create my own theme.

Luckily, Hugo simplified everything . With just a simple command, “hugo new theme,” I had a starting point. Since I had purchased a pre-made HTML theme a while back, I only needed to make a few modifications. While I struggled with the documentation, which wasn’t clear enough for me, the vibrant Hugo community came to my rescue. I found answers to all my questions in the forum and through tutorials.

Two weeks later, there it was—my masterpiece, my pride and joy. Was it worth the effort? Absolutely. Because each line of code, each problem solved, brought me one step closer to realizing my dreams.

Finally even If I didn’t stick to the plan to keep things simple , I’m thrilled with the final result! Despite the challenges and occasional regrets, I persevered . I didn’t give up like I did in the past . It’s more than just a blog; it’s a realization of my dreams - a concrete reminder that with perseverance and dedication, anything is possible. This journey with Hugo marks the first step towards a brighter future, and I’m incredibly excited about what awaits. This is only the beginning. Stay tuned for what’s next on this exciting adventure!
